Who we are?
We are a group of students from the Industrial and Commercial Education (IVE) of the Vocational Training Council (VTC) in Hong Kong. Coming from diverse backgrounds and passionate about technology and social issues, we collaborate to enhance the communication experience for the hearing-impaired.
Our Goal
The purpose of creating this Sign Language Translation System is to assist the hearing-impaired in communicating more effectively. We recognize the significant challenges faced by individuals who cannot hear or understand spoken language. Through the power of technology, we aim to provide a reliable and accurate tool that translates spoken language into sign language, facilitating communication and understanding between the hearing-impaired and others.
Our Motivation
Our motivation stems from a pursuit of inclusivity and equality. We believe that everyone should have equal opportunities to participate in social activities and engage in communication. By developing this Sign Language Translation System, we aspire to eliminate communication barriers, helping the hearing-impaired integrate into society, participate in various occasions, and share their thoughts and feelings with others.
Our Approach
Leveraging our knowledge and skills in technology and programming, combined with a deep understanding of the needs of the hearing-impaired, we have developed this Sign Language Translation System. Our team continuously improves and enhances the system’s functionality and performance through research, studying the grammar and vocabulary of sign language, utilizing state-of-the-art machine learning and natural language processing techniques, and collaborating with hearing-impaired individuals and professionals.
